Pizza dough
Pizza nights are a staple in many households; however, shrinkflation is making it hard to enjoy. Prices of takeaway are getting out of hand, and you now need a magnifying glass to find the toppings. With our quick and easy pizza dough recipe, you can now have restaurant-style pizza at home for a fraction of the price.
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Dilute the active yeast in water (at room temperature) and set aside for about 5 minutes.
-
In another bowl, add the flour and salt. Then add the yeast and water.
-
Knead for about 5 minutes.
-
Add the olive oil (quantity to your taste, I usually add about 3 tablespoons) and kneed for another 5 minutes.
-
Proof for about 7 hours.
Optional: You can stretch and fold the dough at around 3 and 5 hours for a fluffier result. -
Flatten the dough and either use your hand or a rolling pin to shape it. Add your toppings.
-
Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes.
If you use parchment paper, remove it halfway through the baking so the bottom of the pizza is well cooked.
